001B: Sew Together Bag

In this class, you will learn how to sew a zippered pouch!

You will be given a homework sheet with a full list of materials upon registration.

Please bring your sewing machine, power cord, foot pedal, thread, pattern, prepared and cut fabrics (see homework sheet for details), scissors, thread snips, fabric marking pencil or pen, fabric scissors, rotary cutter and acrylic ruler. We will have some of these items available to use during class, like scissors and snips, but it's always best to bring your own. Feel free to bring snacks and something to drink! 

The Cotton Farm will provide an iron, ironing board, cutting mat, ruler and rotary cutter to be shared with the class.

Pattern (can be purchased for 10% off at The Cotton Farm) Exterior Fabric- 1 Fat Quarter Lining Fabric- 1/2yd Pocket Lining- 1/3yd Lightweight fusible interfacing- 1/2yd (NOT SF101!) Binding Fabric- 1 Fat Quarter Batting Scrap at least 18"x22" 1- 18" zipper 3- 12" zippers -Thread -Sewing machine and usual sewing accoutrements

Kristi McDonough is one of the owners of The Cotton Farm. She went to school for fashion design and has sewn everything from wedding dresses to couch covers. Her true sewing love is quilting, and it is there that her expertise really shines. She has been a blogger, pattern designer, and author in the quilting industry for the last 12 years. She loves to teach and is known for her unexpected use of fabrics and color.
